Man in critical condition after being hit by car on Great Western Highway

A man remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Colyton last night.

About 9pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to the intersection of Bennett Road and the Great Western Highway at Colyton, following reports a man had been hit by a Honda Accord.

On arrival, officers found a 63-year-old man suffering serious head injuries.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition,” a Police spokesperson said.

“The Honda driver, a 73-year-old male, was uninjured and taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing.”

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene that is being forensically examined.

Bennett Road was closed for several hours.
