Man critical after being struck by taxi

A man is in a critical condition after being struck by a taxi in Colyton this morning.

At 12.20am today, emergency services were called to Shepherd Street, Colyton, after a 25-year-old man was struck by a westbound taxi.

“The man suffered serious head injuries and was conveyed to Westmead Hospital where he is understood to be in a critical condition,” a Police spokesperson said.

“A crime scene was established at the scene, which is being examined by forensic specialists.”

The driver of the taxi, a 62-year-old man, was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests, before being released pending further inquiries.

Investigations into the incident continue.
