A man will appear in court next month after being charged over an incident on a train.

Shortly after 1pm on Thursday, April 18, an 18-year-old woman boarded a train at Penrith with the intention of travelling to Blacktown.

A man also boarded the train and sat across from the woman, engaging her in conversation.

“As the man stood to leave the train at Blacktown he allegedly lent down to hug the woman and kissed her,” a Police spokesperson said.

“The man allegedly hugged the woman a second time, kissed her and made an inappropriate comment.

“The woman left the train and reported the matter to police.”

Officers from the North West Transport Action Group commenced an investigation.

About 9.50am on Tuesday, May 14, a 52-year-old man was arrested at a Kingswood home and taken to Penrith Police Station.

He was later charged with ‘sexually touch another person without consent’.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Monday, June 3.
