Police are searching for a man after a stabbing in St Marys last night.
Just before 11.30pm, emergency services were called to the rear of a unit block on Saddington Street, St Marys, after reports of a stabbing.
A 25-year-old man was found with a stab wounds to his torso.
He has been taken to Westmead Hospital where he is undergoing surgery. He is believed to be in a serious condition.
A man was seen fleeing in a white utility and has not yet been located.
A crime scene was established which is being examined by forensic specialists.
Detectives from Nepean Police District are conducting inquiries into the incident.
