Man injured during violent home invasion

A man has been hospitalised following a violent robbery at a Luddenham property yesterday afternoon.

About 1.15pm yesterday, a 59-year-old man was at the rear of a home on Luddenham Road, Luddenham, when a silver hatchback stopped outside the property.

The man approached the car and spoke to the male passenger, before walking away towards the home.

“Police have been told the 59-year-old was assaulted by two men, one armed with a baseball bat, who followed the man inside,” a Police spokesperson said.

“A 57-year-old woman inside the home was threatened by the intruders.

“They took jewellery before leaving in the silver hatchback, not further described.”

The 59-year-old man was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment for arm injuries.

Officers from St Marys Local Area Command attended the home and a crime scene was established.

As part of the investigation, detectives would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first male is described as being about 18-20-years-old, 183cm tall and of thin build. He was seen wearing a long sleeved grey top and a baseball cap.

The second male is described as being about 18-20-years-old, of solid build with black hair.
