Police are investigating an accident at Mulgoa last night in which it appears a car hit a tree at high speed.
Police and paramedics were called to Mulgoa Road at around 8pm last night after a motorist located a male suffering injuries laying at the side of the road.
Both services were quickly on the scene and paramedics began treating the injured man for multiple abrasions and other minor injuries.
The man told paramedics he could not remember what had happened, where he came from or when he was injured.
Police investigated the surrounding area and found the Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback wrapped around a tree on a nearby property.
The vehicle had suffered significant damage and appeared to have collided with the tree at high speed.
After investigations were carried out it was determined that the injured man was the alleged driver of the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Once treated at the roadside, he was loaded into an ambulance and transported to Westmead Hospital.
