Duo charged over St Clair home invasion

Two men have been arrested and charged over an alleged home invasion at St Clair yesterday.

About 1:15am on Monday, a 27-year-old woman was asleep in her home on Kala Circuit when she woke to hear the sound of glass breaking.

One man allegedly threatened her with a handgun while the other was armed with a baseball bat. She and her husband were allegedly held in the lounge room while the home was searched.

The men allegedly stole the woman’s handbag and mobile phones before stealing the family’s Jeep and fleeing the scene.

About 3am yesterday, police were patrolling Dean Park when they stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer and arrested two men, aged 33 and 39.

The pair was taken to Quakers Hill Police Station where the 33-year-old man was charged with special aggravated enter dwelling with intent while armed with dangerous weapon and refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday, April 2 2014.

The other man was released pending further investigations. The stolen Jeep was recovered by police in the Mt Druitt.

About 4:35pm yesterday police from St Marys Local Area Command attended a house in Cranebrook where they arrested the 39-year-old man.

He was charged with special aggravated enter dwelling with intent while armed with dangerous weapon and refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court today.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
