At just 16-years-old, Cranebrook girl Emma Murphy is set to represent her country for the third time.

Murphy is one of three Penrith OzTag female players selected in the Australian Girls 16’s team for the 2013 Trans-Tasman tour of New Zealand.

The Year 10 Xavier College student said she was very excited to be playing OzTag for Australia alongside two of her best friends.

“Two of my friends Sam Arnold and Sienna Grady were also selected in the side, so it’s good playing with people you know because you know how they play,” Murphy said.

The Trans-Tasman series, which kicks off in September, will see teams of all different age groups from Australia and New Zealand battle it out for OzTag domination.

“I love everything about OzTag because you get to make new friends and you get to travel,” Murphy said.

“I’ve been playing with Penrith OzTag for six years and they are always supportive. I hope to stay in the Australian team each year I get older.”

Murphy’s dad Dean said he’s very proud of what his daughter has achieved.
