Teen girl stabbed

Police from Penrith Local Area Command are investigating an incident which left a teenager with stab wounds last night.

About 6.30pm, police were called to a house on Caloola Avenue, Penrith.

They found a 17-year-old girl with stab wounds to her upper thigh. She was taken to hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening wounds.

A male occupant of the home allegedly became aggressive towards police at the scene.

The 18-year-old was arrested and subsequently charged with assaulting police and hindering arrest. He was refused bail and will face Penrith Local Court today.

Detectives are in the early stages of establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including exactly how the teenager’s injuries were caused.

The man’s arrest is unrelated to that incident.
