Susan Graham from St Paul’s Grammar School in Penrith has been announced as the winner of this year’s Bateman Battersby Law Bursary.

Ms Graham completed the International Baccalaureate in 2017 achieving a 44 point grade which equates to an ATAR of 99.85 per cent.

She has since been admitted to the University of Sydney to study a Combined Media & Communications Law degree.

As the 28th winner of the award, Ms Graham was presented with the Bateman Battersby Bursary trophy and a cheque for $1,000 to assist her in her initial year of legal study by the firm’s partners John Bateman and Michael Battersby.

Bateman Battersby Lawyers Penrith instigated the Bursary in 1990 to encourage local high school students to undertake legal studies at a tertiary level. Many previous winners of the Bateman Battersby Law Bursary have gone on to achieve great success in practising law in a variety of fields, working in high level positions in Government or as Academics teaching law at Universities both in Australia and overseas.
