Two youths have been arrested after a fire was deliberately lit in Erskine Park this morning.

About 10.20am, police will allege two boys deliberately set fire to bushland near Warbler Street, Erskine Park.

It is an extraordinary crime given temperatures soared above 40 degrees in the Penrith area today.

“The fire was extinguished before it caused damage to any property. No one was injured,” a Police spokesperson said.

Police from Nepean Police Area Command attended and arrested the two youths.

The teenagers, both aged 13, will be dealt with under the Youth Offenders Act.

A total fire ban is in place for the Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter, Central Ranges and Southern Ranges areas today.
