Man dies following pub blaze

A man injured in a fire at O’Donoghues in Emu Plains yesterday has now died in hospital.

About 1.45am on Friday, emergency services were called to the Irish pub on the Great Western Highway at Emu Plains, following reports of a fire.

On arrival, officers from Penrith Local Area Command located a 29-year-old man on the road with serious burns.

Police rendered assistance to the man. He was taken to Nepean Hospital and later transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital. He died about 9pm last night.

A 30-year-old man was located by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at Avoca Street, Emu Plains, with serious burns, and taken to Nepean Hospital.

Detectives from Penrith Local Area Command are continuing to investigate the incident.
