Man charged with stalking offences

A man will appear in court today over 41 alleged child stalking offences in Penrith.

The man was arrested about 11am yesterday in Smith Street, South Penrith, following ongoing investigations by officers attached to Penrith Local Area Command into reports a child had been allegedly approached and photographed in the area.

The charges relate to alleged offences committed over a number of years.

The 32-year-old man was taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with 24 counts of ‘stalk with intend to fear’, and 17 counts of ‘stalk school student while attending school’.

He was refused bail, and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
