To truly understand and appreciate a place you need to know its stories.

This is the premise behind the ‘Meet St Marys’ project.

Headed by Fusion – a Christian youth and community organisation – and in partnership with local artist and Director of Shiney Pictures, David Ryan, the ‘Meet St Marys’ project has interviewed, filmed and photographed the people of St Marys, and then recorded their stories through video, dance and projection.

The project launch will be held as part of the free Cinema in the Park event this Saturday.

The evening will kick off at 7pm with free fun activities for the whole family, and a sausage sizzle courtesy of Optus Shop St Marys Village.

The Meet St Marys project will then be launched with a special dance performance and video projection featuring ‘Fusion Youth’ and ‘Agile Not Fragile’ dance groups.

This will be followed by a free screening of the animated hit ‘Inside Out’.

Guests are encourage to bring picnic blankets, cushions and low chairs to the event.

Cinema in the Park will be on at Coachman’s Park in St Marys on Saturday, February 13 at 7pm.

This is a free family event. For more information on Meet St Marys visit www.facebook.com/meetstmarys.
