A man who escaped from a correctional centre near Bathurst earlier this week has been arrested in Penrith.
Some time on Friday or Saturday last week, a 23-year-old man escaped from a correctional centre at Sunny Corner Road, Kirkconnell.
Officers from Chifley Local Area Command commenced an investigation.
Following an extensive search effort and inquiries, about 3.40pm today the 23-year-old man walked into Penrith Police Station.
He was arrested and charged with escape lawful custody. The man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court tomorrow.
