A new fairytale by one of Australia’s most exciting playwrights, Finegan Kruckemeyer, will be playing at the Q Theatre as part of the popular Sydney Children’s Festival.

Audiences will join three sisters as they cross oceans, topple lighthouses and conquer armies in ‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’ – a joint production from Barking Gecko, Q Theatre Company and Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

This contemporary take on a classic fairytale follows three sisters abandoned in the forest by their father.

Facing an uncertain future, one decides to walk one way around the world, one decides to walk the other way and one decides to stay right where she is.

Audiences follow the three girls over 20 adventurous years until they meet again in the same place in the forest. ‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’ is on at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre starting next Friday, September 28.

Tickets are $20. To book call 4723 7600 or visit www.jspac.com.au.
