A benefit fundraiser at the Penrith Gaels Club has been cancelled due to the unfortunate passing of the beneficiary.

The fundraiser for Jim Watson was scheduled for Friday, April 20.

“The directors, management, staff and all at the Penrith Gaels would like to pass on their condolences to the family of the late Jim Watson,” said Club president, John Grieve.

Mr Watson worked tirelessly during the conversion of the squash court to the present club premises between March and August in 1997.

“Although working mainly on the electricals, Jim was more than willing to help in any area he was needed and always with a smile,” Mr Grieve said.

“He will long live in our memories and our hearts.”
