A teenage boy has charged with the alleged stabbing attack of his mother at Jamisontown on the weekend.

About 12:20am on Sunday, a 15-year-old boy became involved in an argument with his mother in the family home on Regentville Road.

During the incident the teenager allegedly hit his mother with a baseball bat before stabbing her in the back of her leg with a knife.

Police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene and the 37-year-old woman was taken to Nepean Hospital where she underwent surgery.

The boy fled the house prior to police arrival. He was subsequently arrested by police at 3.45pm yesterday while on Woodriffe Street, Penrith.

He was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today.
